US Naval Academy 14 Years — SEAL Teams 4x Founder 2x Exits Jefferson Medical School

Zach earned his BS from the US Naval Academy and served 14 years with the SEAL Teams before leaving Jefferson Medical School to co-found MATBOCK — a successful defense-focused startup he helped grow and exit. His combination of special operations experience and entrepreneurial track record makes him uniquely suited to lead Aceso Plasma through its development and commercialization journey. Zach understands firsthand the wound care challenges that military medics face in austere environments — and built Aceso Plasma to solve them.

Sean graduated from VMI and served with the SEAL Teams before becoming a serial entrepreneur with four company launches and two successful exits to his name. As co-founder of MATBOCK alongside Zach, he developed deep experience building defense-focused companies from the ground up. Sean brings the strategic vision and investor relationships needed to scale Aceso Plasma from an investigational device into a commercially deployed medical technology — across both the military and civilian healthcare markets.

Craig brings over 25 years of medical device commercialization experience, including senior roles at Guidant Corporation and NICO Corporation where he led teams through FDA clearance, market launch, and scale. He served seven years as a Marine Infantry Officer before transitioning to healthcare — co-founding wellness and telehealth startups and consulting for hospitals and EHR vendors. Craig's rare combination of operational military discipline and deep medtech industry expertise gives Aceso Plasma the commercialization leadership that most early-stage medical device companies lack.

Dr. Kenneth "Trip" Johnson is a retired physician from the Joint Medical Augmentation Unit (JMAU) — one of the most specialized military medical units in the US military — bringing elite special operations medical experience directly to Aceso Plasma's clinical leadership. As CMO, Dr. Johnson chairs the company's Physician Advisory Board and guides clinical strategy, regulatory positioning, and the communication of unmet needs in wound care that Aceso is designed to address. His background in military medicine and special operations gives Aceso direct insight into the environments and challenges the device was built to solve.

Clinical guidance from
those who've served.

Aceso Plasma is building a Physician Advisory Board of 2-3 senior physicians to guide clinical strategy and communicate the unmet needs in wound care that Aceso addresses.

Chaired by CMO Dr. Kenneth "Trip" Johnson

Dr. Johnson — a retired physician from the Joint Medical Augmentation Unit (JMAU) — will chair the Advisory Board, bringing elite military medicine experience and strategic clinical leadership to guide Aceso's development priorities.

2–3 Senior Physician Advisors

The board will consist of 2-3 physicians with relevant clinical expertise — advising on strategic issues, communicating the challenges in current wound care, and supporting Aceso's clinical positioning as the company advances toward FDA clearance.

Board members being announced shortly

Candidate identification is underway. Board members will be announced as they are confirmed. If you are a physician with expertise in wound care, military medicine, or dermatology and are interested in advising Aceso Plasma, we'd love to hear from you.
